What is Dropbox?
Dropbox is a great sharing tool for distributing or sharing documents with a large group of people. It is a virtual storage utility that helps you make your files, pictures, videos or any kind of document really, readily available from anywhere you are going. Dropbox is established for use on PC, Apple, Mobiles, Tablets etc. So your files can go anywhere you are going.
Here is a little tutorial made to give you a starting point of beginning to use Dropbox.
Dropbox Resources:
“Dropbox in the classroom – 4 great uses”
This is a blog post from Dark Reading by Ellis Booker that outlines some of the popular uses teachers have for Dropbox in their classrooms.
“Apps in the Classroom – Advanced Dropbox for Teachers”
A blog post from School iPad blog designed as a professional development page for using iPads in the classroom. May be a good one to follow for teachers whose school is moving toward iPad technology. I have heard that Dropbox does not work with Apple versions of Microsoft Office (Pages , keynote, etc) and its takes you through how to get around that problem. It also has a nice “getting started” video to help you in case the one above did not help!
“Have you tried using Dropbox in your classroom?” @JeffBradbury
This post is a great resources for explaining exactly what Dropbox is in just a quick read! Check it out.
